Bloomberg has introduced Custom Fundamentals and Digest Alerts to its Research Management Solution (RMS Enterprise), delivering powerful new capabilities that allow investment research teams to seamlessly integrate proprietary financial models, compare in-house estimates against consensus, and maintain stronger oversight across the entire research workflow.
The new Custom Fundamentals feature expands RMS Enterprise’s custom data functionality, allowing research analysts to upload and manage their firm’s proprietary financial models and estimates within the Bloomberg Terminal environment. Once integrated, these datasets become fully discoverable and shareable across the organization, enabling investment teams to compare internal forecasts against market consensus and reported results in real time while leveraging Bloomberg’s advanced visualization tools to assess historical forecasting performance.
This capability transforms proprietary research from isolated spreadsheets into standardized, workflow-integrated assets that drive faster and more informed investment decisions.
Complementing the administration suite, Digest Alerts introduces configurable, automated reporting designed specifically for front-office research leaders. The tool surfaces critical insights such as outdated research requiring updates, changes in analyst recommendations, and analyst activity trends—creating forward-looking task lists aligned with each firm’s investment thesis.
By linking research updates directly to portfolios by asset class or security universe, Digest Alerts strengthens compliance, accountability, and transparency throughout the investment research process.
Andrew Skala, Global Head of Research and Companies Product at Bloomberg, commented on the strategic importance of the upgrades:
"Advances in financial technology and the adoption of agentic AI are raising the bar for how research organizations and asset managers operate. RMS Enterprise - and upgrades like Custom Fundamentals and Digest Alerts - equip research leaders to focus analyst time on high-value opportunities, keep house views current, and optimize research performance against portfolio objectives."
These enhancements reinforce Bloomberg’s position as a comprehensive platform for investment management, combining trusted market data with proprietary intelligence and AI-powered research tools such as Document Search & Analysis to accelerate insight generation across the full investment lifecycle.
