EdgeMode, in a joint venture with the Blackberry Alternative Investment Fund (BAIF), has announced a critical operational milestone: securing the power supply required for its full pipeline of large-scale AI data center campuses in Spain. This achievement, addressing the primary constraint for AI infrastructure, materially advances the development of what is positioned as the largest AI data center initiative in Europe, with a combined capacity of over 1.5 Gigawatts of IT power.
EdgeMode and its joint venture partner BAIF have secured the power supply for their entire 1.5 GW AI data center pipeline in Spain.
The pipeline comprises five campus-style data centers specifically designed for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing workloads.
This development is positioned as the largest AI data center pipeline in the European market by capacity.
Beyond power, all project sites have land rights, dark fiber connectivity, and construction permits secured, de-risking execution.

The announcement directly tackles the most significant bottleneck for new AI data center development: access to sufficient, reliable electrical power. High-density AI computing requires exponentially more energy than traditional data centers, making power procurement a foundational challenge. By securing the necessary supply across its entire planned portfolio, the EdgeMode-BAIF joint venture has cleared a major hurdle that delays or cancels many other projects.
