Bureau Veritas, a global leader in Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) services, has announced three strategic acquisitions to bolster its presence in the high-growth sectors of cybersecurity, nuclear, and transition services. These moves align with the company’s LEAP | 28 strategy, enhancing its portfolio and expanding its footprint in specialized, high-demand markets.
Bureau Veritas acquires Dornier Hinneburg to strengthen nuclear sector services.
Institute For Cyber Risk (IFCR) acquisition boosts cybersecurity presence in Nordics.
EcoPlus acquisition in South Korea enhances sustainability consulting capabilities.
Acquisitions align with LEAP | 28 strategy for high-growth market expansion.
Dornier Hinneburg generated €14M, IFCR €3M, and EcoPlus €1M in 2024.
Moves create new strongholds in technical and specialized TIC fields.
Bureau Veritas has signed an agreement to acquire Dornier Hinneburg, a Germany-based subsidiary of Dornier Group, to expand its nuclear industry services. Specializing in technical advisory and radiation protection for nuclear facility decommissioning, Dornier Hinneburg employs 110 skilled experts and generated €14 million in revenue in 2024. This acquisition positions Bureau Veritas to capitalize on the growing demand for nuclear sector expertise.
In the cybersecurity domain, Bureau Veritas is acquiring the Institute For Cyber Risk (IFCR) in Denmark to establish a foothold in the Nordic market. IFCR focuses on Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), offensive security, and cybersecurity training. With 25 professionals and €3 million in 2024 revenue, this acquisition supports the company’s goal to rapidly develop its cybersecurity portfolio under the LEAP | 28 strategy.
To strengthen its position in transition services, Bureau Veritas is acquiring EcoPlus, a South Korea-based startup specializing in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) certification. Employing 12 skilled engineers and generating approximately €1 million in revenue, EcoPlus enhances Bureau Veritas’ sustainability consulting offerings, addressing the rising demand for environmentally focused services in a competitive market.
Hinda Gharbi, Chief Executive Officer of Bureau Veritas, comments: “These three transactions in Cybersecurity in Denmark, in Nuclear in Germany, and in Transition Services in South Korea are a continuation of our LEAP | 28 strategy’s focused portfolio approach to accelerate our growth. It demonstrates Bureau Veritas' commitment to creating new strongholds in high-growth markets. These acquisitions expand our geographical footprint and create greater value for our customers in these highly technical and specialized fields. I look forward to welcoming all our new colleagues to Bureau Veritas.”
