RealSense, Inc., a leader in robotic perception, has announced a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA to drive innovation in physical AI for humanoid robots and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). By integrating RealSense’s AI depth cameras with NVIDIA’s advanced robotics platforms, including Jetson Thor, Isaac Sim, and Holoscan Sensor Bridge, the partnership sets a new standard for intelligent machines in industries like manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare.
The collaboration combines RealSense’s industry-leading AI depth cameras with NVIDIA’s cutting-edge robotics platforms, including the Jetson Thor Series, Isaac Sim, and Holoscan Sensor Bridge. “This initiative cements RealSense’s role as the perception platform of choice for AMRs and humanoids,” said Nadav Orbach, CEO of RealSense. This integration empowers developers to create advanced humanoid robots and AMRs with enhanced perception and AI-driven capabilities, targeting high-growth sectors.
The RealSense D555 depth camera, featuring the v5 Vision Processor and on-chip Power over Ethernet (PoE), supports NVIDIA’s Holoscan Sensor Bridge for ultra-low-latency streaming and on-camera neural network processing. Its rugged design, global shutter, IMU, and ROS 2 support deliver high-fidelity perception data. NVIDIA’s Jetson Thor, powered by the Blackwell GPU, offers 2070 FP4 teraflops of AI compute within a 130-watt envelope, providing 7.5x higher AI performance and 3.5x better energy efficiency than its predecessor, Jetson Orin.
The partnership enables developers to stream native depth and image data into NVIDIA Isaac Sim, significantly reducing the time from prototype to production. Fully validated architectures optimized for Jetson Thor ensure maximum performance, while Holoscan Sensor Bridge facilitates real-time sensor fusion. “By providing native integration and performance optimizations with NVIDIA Thor and Holoscan Sensor Bridge, we are accelerating the mainstream adoption of physical AI,” Orbach added, highlighting the focus on scalable, efficient solutions.
With the robotics market projected to reach multi-trillion-dollar potential, this collaboration positions RealSense and NVIDIA as leaders in physical AI innovation. The integration supports applications in manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare, enabling robots to perform complex tasks with precision. By combining RealSense’s perception technology with NVIDIA’s AI compute power, the partnership drives breakthroughs in next-generation intelligent machines.
RealSense and NVIDIA’s collaboration marks a pivotal step in advancing physical AI, offering developers the tools to create smarter, more efficient robots. This partnership not only accelerates innovation but also sets the stage for transformative applications across industries, redefining the future of humanoid robotics and AMRs.
