Advancing Inclusive AI Education

AI4ALL’s $2 million grant from Google.org, announced on June 9, 2025, in San Francisco, will fuel two transformative programs launching in 2025. As AI’s influence grows across education, workforce, and society, these initiatives aim to ensure AI is taught and applied responsibly. The Future of AI Education Council and Future of AI Salon series will drive collaboration and innovation, equipping educators and leaders to build a human-centered AI future.

Future of AI Education Council

Launching in fall 2025, the Future of AI Education Council will unite university educators to develop inclusive, rigorous AI teaching guidelines. “The goal of the Future of AI Education Council is to bring together leading academic voices to guide how AI is taught in higher education–and to ensure that the field grows with a deep awareness of its societal responsibilities,” said Tess Posner, Interim CEO of AI4ALL. The Council will create practical tools for post-secondary educators, drawing on diverse classroom experiences to foster a socially responsible AI talent pipeline.

Future of AI Salon Series

The Future of AI Salon series, debuting in July 2025 in San Francisco and September in New York, will host intimate, off-the-record dinners for AI, academia, and policy leaders. Themed discussions will cover AI’s impact on youth, education, human connection, and evolving AI careers. “The salon series is designed to spark honest, high-level dialogue and community building at a time when cross-sector collaboration is urgently needed, and, in turn, inform AI4ALL’s curriculum to prepare students best for what’s to come,” said Tess. These gatherings aim to shape AI4ALL’s educational approach through cross-sector insights.

Scaling Impact in 2026 and Beyond

AI4ALL plans to expand both programs in 2026, with the Council launching a dedicated microsite and the Salon series extending to cities like Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, and Seattle. These efforts build on AI4ALL’s mission, having trained over 2,000 early-career technologists since 2017. The initiatives will strengthen AI education by fostering inclusivity and ethical application, ensuring AI benefits diverse communities.

Building a Responsible AI Future

The Google.org grant empowers AI4ALL to lead in responsible AI education. By equipping educators with inclusive tools and fostering high-level dialogue, AI4ALL is shaping a future where AI is accessible and beneficial to all. These initiatives mark a critical step toward a more equitable and human-centered AI landscape, addressing the growing need for ethical AI development.
