Xpanner has launched the X1 Kit, the first scalable Physical AI-based retrofit solution for construction site automation, announced on August 28, 2025. Designed to address labor shortages, safety hazards, and inefficiencies, the X1 Kit transforms existing machinery into intelligent, software-defined systems, revolutionizing construction workflows.

Quick Intel

  • Xpanner unveils X1 Kit, a scalable Physical AI automation solution.

  • Integrates with existing machinery, reducing labor needs by 80%.

  • Cuts operation time by 50% in high-impact tasks like pile driving.

  • Powered by Mango, M2, and proprietary software for precision and adaptability.

  • Currently used for pile drivers, with plans to expand to other equipment.

  • Launched in the U.S. market, building on success in South Korea.

Revolutionary Construction Automation

Xpanner’s X1 Kit, launched in Santa Fe Springs, California, is a groundbreaking retrofit solution that integrates Physical AI to automate construction tasks. “The launch of X1 offers a practical, accessible form of Physical AI that can drastically boost productivity by reducing costs and increasing efficiency by over 50 percent without necessitating new machinery investments,” said Henri Lee, CEO of Xpanner. The kit’s equipment-agnostic design allows seamless integration with existing machinery, such as the Orteco Pile Driver and Develon Excavator, enhancing operational efficiency across brands and models.

Task-Specific Automation

Unlike traditional automation, Xpanner focuses on task-specific solutions, particularly for high-precision applications like pile driving in solar installations. The X1 Kit recently automated a piling process, slashing labor needs by 80% and operation time by 50%, demonstrating significant cost and efficiency gains. “Our technology is tailored specifically for the construction industry, streamlining site automation to make it both faster and more efficient,” Lee added. This approach automates distinct tasks, contributing to comprehensive workflow optimization.

Advanced Technology Integration

The X1 Kit leverages a triad of technologies: Mango, M2, and a proprietary software suite. Mango ensures precise machine control, while M2 processes environmental data for real-time operational commands. The centralized software platform enhances integration and user interaction, enabling continuous remote updates for optimized workflows. This infrastructure allows the X1 Kit to evolve on-site, forming a learning, adaptive Physical AI system that improves over time.

Industry Impact and Future Plans

Since its founding in South Korea in 2020, Xpanner has expanded to the U.S. in 2023, building on its Automation-Ready Package. The X1 Kit, now available to the market, is designed for immediate field readiness and has been deployed by select customers in forward applications. Xpanner plans to extend the kit’s compatibility to additional machinery, further addressing chronic industry challenges like labor shortages and undertrained personnel. “We are excited about X1 not only for its technical innovation, but for the tangible change it will bring to the construction industry,” said Lee.
