  • U.S. large enterprises embed analytics and AI into core decision-making, automation, and performance measurement.
  • AI spending as a share of IT budgets nearly tripled to 6% in the past two years.
  • Organizations seek unified data foundations to address fragmentation across nearly 2,000 average software systems.
  • Formalized operating models consolidate leadership, governance, and architecture for advanced analytics and AI.
  • Midsize firms adopt hybrid models blending central coordination with domain autonomy.
  • Specialist providers gain traction in regulated verticals like healthcare, finance, and manufacturing.

Maturing Strategies Drive Enterprise-Wide Adoption

According to the 2025 ISG Provider Lens® Advanced Analytics and AI Services reports for the U.S., large enterprises have moved beyond isolated pilots to embed analytics and AI capabilities across all core business systems. This shift responds to increasing IT complexity, with average software portfolios approaching 2,000 systems, making consistent data integration, governance, and lifecycle management essential.

Enterprises are partnering with service providers on initiatives that combine data modernization, advanced analytics, and AI to create unified foundations supporting predictive analytics and ambitious AI objectives.

“U.S. enterprises are no longer experimenting with analytics and AI at the margins,” said Kathy Rudy, partner, ISG Data, Analytics and Technology Office. “They are embedding these capabilities into how decisions are made, processes are automated and performance is measured across the organization.”

AI Takes Center Stage in Digital Transformation

AI has become central to digital transformation, with spending as a share of IT budgets nearly tripling over two years to approach 6 percent. As AI transitions from pilots to production-scale deployments, organizations are reevaluating data, analytics, and AI usage across business lines. Many large enterprises now implement formalized operating models for advanced analytics and AI (AAAI), centralizing leadership, governance, and architectural ownership.

Midsize enterprises often pursue hybrid models that combine central coordination with domain-level autonomy, enabling faster progress tailored to specific business needs. Midsize service providers support this approach with accelerators, pre-configured data models, and adaptable migration frameworks.

Rise of Specialist Providers and Vertical Focus

Specialist providers are emerging as key partners, particularly for high-precision or regulated data such as customer data, supply chain telemetry, competitive intelligence, and clinical datasets. These providers deepen expertise in verticals including healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, and digital commerce to deliver targeted business value.

“Enterprises are under increasing pressure to connect analytics and AI investments to measurable business results,” said Gowtham Sampath, principal analyst, ISG Research, and lead author of the report. “The organizations making progress are those that treat data, analytics and AI as a continuous operational capability rather than a series of projects.”

Additional Trends and Provider Recognition

The reports highlight the critical role of change readiness, process reengineering, and demand for consumption-based or outcome-linked pricing in successful AAAI initiatives.

The Large and Midsize report evaluates 60 providers across four quadrants and names Accenture, Apexon, Atos, Brillio, Capgemini, Cognizant, EXL, Genpact, HARMAN, HCLTech, Hexaware, HTC Global Services, IBM, Infosys, Innova Solutions, Mphasis, Persistent Systems, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Unisys, UST, Virtusa, and Wipro as Leaders in two quadrants each, with Stefanini as a Leader in one.
