Oracle has introduced significant updates to its Oracle Public Safety Suite, a comprehensive hardware and software platform tailored for law enforcement and first responders. These enhancements incorporate AI-driven analytics, mobile voice controls, and an advanced wearable computer system to elevate situational awareness, streamline decision-making, and accelerate issue resolution in high-stakes environments.
The updated suite equips first responders with direct access to unified operational data, including computer-aided dispatch, mobile records, jail management, and digital evidence. Built-in analytics support fast ad-hoc and scheduled reports, while an AI chat assistant interprets natural commands—such as filtering by date or switching chart types—to generate visualizations without specialized expertise. Interactive dashboards cover shift summaries, dispatch trends, priorities, and timelines, featuring filters for dates, units, and locations to facilitate rapid, data-informed actions.
"First responders need agile, intelligent technologies that enable increasingly data-driven mobile ecosystems with enhanced transparency, efficiency, and safety," said Sean McCarthy, vice president of product, Oracle Local Safety. "Oracle is deeply committed to partnering with agencies to constantly improve our platform to help them respond more effectively, increase first responder safety, reduce administrative burdens, and build trust within their communities."
The refined Oracle Public Safety Wearable Computer System, deployed in agencies like Wright County, Minnesota, activates seamlessly upon dispatch to capture interactions, promoting accountability and community trust. Oracle's streaming technology allows real-time video feeds to remote team members, such as command centers, providing on-scene guidance during unfolding events. Dispatch details, verbal inputs, and video are automatically integrated into case files, minimizing after-action paperwork and allowing officers to focus on immediate priorities.
New voice-activated features for tablets keep responders hands-free and eyes forward: officers can query license plates verbally, log traffic stops with one tap—including current location—and dictate full narratives via voice-to-text for faster field documentation. Streamlined "next logical status" controls, like "Confirm En Route," simplify updates without menu navigation. Hands-free querying supports plain-English requests for data visualizations and NCIC checks, auto-populating results into workflows to cut rekeying errors.
Audible safety alerts notify users of critical flags, such as revoked tags or officer risks, with customizable tones aligned to agency policies. Property searches now automate chain-of-custody logging, scanning and populating timestamps and locations to expedite evidence handling.
Hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, the suite ensures CJIS-compliant security, high performance, and scalability, enabling rapid implementation for agencies regardless of size to manage costs and complexity effectively.
These advancements position the Oracle Public Safety Suite as a vital tool for modernizing public safety, empowering responders with intelligent, integrated solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and public trust.
