This enhanced collaboration is geared towards developing and offering joint solutions designed to accelerate digital transformation initiatives across Latin America. The partnership leverages the expertise of both companies to address the growing demand for AI-driven innovation in the region.
The strengthened alliance between Intel and Softtek is built upon three key strategic pillars: the co-creation of practical and effective solutions, the seamless integration of their respective technologies, and a framework for mutual feedback to ensure continuous improvement and alignment. Gisselle Ruiz Lanza, Intel's regional director for Latin America, emphasized the reciprocal nature of their relationship, stating, "Softtek is both a provider and a technology partner for Intel, and we contribute the technology they use."
Ruiz also highlighted the bicultural aspect of the alliance. Intel, a U.S.-based company, and Softtek, founded in Mexico with a global footprint, share a common vision for the responsible and ethical application of technology. This shared understanding is crucial for developing solutions that are not only innovative but also aligned with the cultural and societal nuances of the Latin American region.
Intel's approach to AI is based on four fundamental principles: openness, efficiency, security, and continuous innovation. Ruiz pointed out that while AI might seem like a recent phenomenon, it is the result of decades of dedicated development. She also noted the significant growth potential of the AI market, projecting it could reach $235 billion in 2024, underscoring the strategic importance of this collaboration.
One of the tangible outcomes of the Intel-Softtek partnership is FRIDA, Softtek's advanced automation platform. This powerful platform is powered by Intel Gaudi processors and the OpenVINO toolkit, demonstrating the successful integration of technologies from both companies. Carlos Méndez, general director of industry at Softtek, reported impressive results from this integration, stating that "these technologies have increased productivity by 40% and reduced testing times by 30%."
Méndez emphasized that the alliance extends beyond mere technological collaboration, stating that it "isn't just about technology; it also builds trust. That opens the door to new conversations, to exploring different paths." He believes that while the challenges of artificial intelligence are global, the combined capabilities of Intel and Softtek, originating from Mexico, present a unique opportunity to create impactful solutions that can transcend borders and have a global reach.
Méndez further highlighted the increasing accessibility of AI, noting that "AI is no longer just for large corporations (...) We have cases in healthcare where an application shortens medical diagnosis time from 45 to 15 minutes even in rural areas." This illustrates the potential of the Intel-Softtek alliance to deliver practical AI applications that can have a significant positive impact across various industries and even in underserved communities. Softtek's use of 'Lab as a Service' methodologies enables them to develop these innovative solutions in a relatively short timeframe, often within just a few weeks.
