Amplitude, the digital analytics leader, has announced the public release of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and the expansion of its AI Agents program to an open beta for all customers. This strategic move is designed to bridge the gap between behavioral data and artificial intelligence, allowing companies to access and query their trusted Amplitude data directly within the AI environments they use daily.
Amplitude launches a public MCP server to connect its behavioral data with AI tools.
Users can now query Amplitude data in plain language within environments like Claude.
The AI Agents beta program is now open to all Amplitude customers.
Two initial AI Agents are available: Dashboard Agent and Session Replay Agent.
This integration provides instant, governed access to live product and user data.
The goal is to automate the insights-to-actions loop and democratize data analysis.
The launch of the Amplitude MCP server addresses a critical need for context in AI-driven analysis. Companies can now pose questions in natural language—such as “What features drove the most retention this month?”—directly within AI clients like Claude and Cursor, receiving instant answers grounded in their live Amplitude data. This eliminates the constant need to switch between dashboards and applications, enabling teams to spend more time understanding customer behavior and acting on those insights.
Amplitude leadership emphasized the transformative nature of this integration. “Behavioral context is one of the most critical inputs behind every great product and digital experience. The problem is, AI tools are only as good as the context they leverage,” explained Wade Chambers, Chief Engineering Officer at Amplitude. “Amplitude already captures and organizes behavioral data across the full user journey. So by extending this into MCP-enabled environments like Claude, we’re giving AI direct, governed access to that data. This makes the context instantly available and marks a major step toward the insights-to-actions loop becoming automatic.”
Early adopters are already witnessing significant benefits. “Amplitude’s MCP is a real game-changer,” said Moss Pauly, Technical Product Manager, Data & AI at Zip. “We’ve been able to embed our internal domain knowledge—how certain events are used to drive complex analysis—directly into an LLM’s context and have it interact seamlessly with Amplitude. It’s opening up access to cross-domain insights that previously only a few specialists could uncover. It’s a genuine step change in democratising data across the organisation.”
Alongside the MCP launch, Amplitude is expanding access to its AI Agents. Previously in a limited beta, the program is now open to all customers, featuring two intelligent assistants designed to proactively surface insights. The Dashboard Agent performs automated dashboard analysis, summarizing meaningful changes, detecting key shifts, and performing root-cause analysis. It can also push these insights to platforms like Slack. The Session Replay Agent provides qualitative analysis at scale, automatically analyzing session replays to surface behavioral patterns, drop-offs, and user frustration signals like rage clicks, backing each insight with a curated playlist of relevant replays for deeper investigation.
By making its rich behavioral dataset directly accessible to AI and providing proactive analytical agents, Amplitude is fundamentally shifting how organizations derive and act on product intelligence, moving from reactive reporting to an automated, always-on system of insight.
