Kyocera Document Solutions Inc., under President Takashi Nagai, will introduce its innovative real-time caption display system, Cotopat, to the U.S. market for the first time at CES 2026. From January 6-9, 2026, the company will co-exhibit at Kyocera Corporation’s group booth in Las Vegas, Nevada, demonstrating how Cotopat transforms spoken words into accessible text, diagrams, and videos on screens and tablets to bridge communication gaps caused by hearing challenges, disabilities, or language barriers.
Cotopat addresses key challenges in face-to-face interactions by converting speech into visual content instantly, displayed on transparent acrylic panels that preserve eye contact and facial expressions. This natural setup fosters genuine dialogue, making it ideal for environments like government offices, medical facilities, and customer service desks where clear, accurate information delivery is essential—particularly for older adults, those with hearing impairments, or multilingual groups.
Since its 2023 Japan launch, Cotopat has gained strong adoption at service counters and reception areas, receiving acclaim for smoothing interactions in diverse settings. At CES 2026, live demos will showcase real-world implementations, highlighting its role in promoting accessibility and efficiency.
A standout capability is Cotopat’s two-way translated display: when speakers use their native languages, the system renders the counterpart’s words in their preferred tongue on their screen, all while maintaining visual connection. With support for 134 languages—including 73 enabling full bidirectional translation—Cotopat excels in serving international communities, municipalities, and businesses with varied linguistic needs.
This feature extends beyond basic captions, incorporating context-aware visuals like diagrams and videos to convey complex ideas effortlessly, reducing misunderstandings and enhancing user satisfaction in cross-cultural exchanges.
Cotopat leverages generative AI to record and condense conversation logs into concise summaries, accessible via QR code for sharing with family, colleagues, or others not present. This post-interaction tool ensures key details are retained and disseminated, supporting follow-up actions and accountability in professional or caregiving scenarios.
As global emphasis on diversity and inclusion grows, Cotopat positions Kyocera Document Solutions as a leader in accessible technology, with European sales imminent and expansion to Australia and New Zealand on the horizon.
