SnapLogic, the Agentic Integration Company, has published the findings of its “AI at Work: Ground Truth for the Global Workforce” report, revealing widespread AI adoption among employees - 78% use AI in their roles, with 50% leveraging AI agents - while highlighting persistent barriers like data privacy concerns and inadequate training that hinder effective implementation.
The report, based on a survey of 3,000 employees from entry-level to senior leadership across the US, UK, and Germany in sectors like education, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and retail, underscores AI's rapid integration into daily workflows. Employees engage with AI 6.5 days a week on average, utilizing tools from assistants to autonomous agents for decision-making and actions. This adoption signals a shift toward augmented intelligence, where AI eases workloads and sparks creativity, yet 94% report organizational hurdles, primarily data privacy and security, stalling full potential. The findings emphasize that while boardroom strategies propel AI initiatives, frontline execution determines success, urging leaders to address these gaps for optimal business value.
A stark disparity emerges in AI readiness: 97% of respondents stress the importance of education on AI safety and security, but only 63% have accessed company-provided training. Notably, 45% of workers sense a disconnect between leadership's AI zeal and actual support, with 47% relying on self-teaching or trial-and-error. Managers boast an 82% training rate compared to 62% for non-managers, fueling a confidence chasm—70% of managers feel very confident versus 43% of others. This generational and hierarchical divide risks widening, as 55% view managing AI agents as easier than humans, and half foresee AI agents dominating future oversight roles. Respondents prioritize training as the premier support mechanism, followed by privacy assurances and usage guidelines, to foster equitable adoption.
These insights illuminate the path to an "agentic enterprise," where AI partners with humans to enhance strategy and innovation rather than replace them. “The agentic enterprise is not about replacing people, it’s about using AI to ease workloads, spark creativity, and reshape how work gets done,” said Jeremiah Stone, CTO of SnapLogic. “These findings prove that while AI usage continues to increase at a rapid pace, disparities in adoption, trust, and training persist. This is a critical moment for organizations to refine their AI strategies to ensure trust across the workforce and realize the greatest business value from AI. The future of work is about augmented intelligence where employees are using AI as a partner to strengthen what’s uniquely human: strategy, insight, and innovation.”
