The Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS) and Notified, a leading investor relations and public relations technology provider, are hosting a panel discussion titled "From Data to Dialogue: How AI is Transforming PR and Messaging Strategy," exploring AI's role in turning overwhelming data into authentic, targeted communications for PR professionals.
PR practitioners grapple with vast data volumes while striving for genuine, precise messaging in a fast-evolving landscape. This panel convenes to dissect three pivotal areas: leveraging AI to convert data into meaningful conversations, utilizing it for customized press releases and campaigns, and devising tactics to elevate corporate narratives in AI-saturated environments. Drawing from the 2024 ICCCO World PR Report, where more than 70% of professionals integrate AI into routines, the discussion highlights the chasm between awareness and assured execution, exacerbated by emerging AI capabilities. As regulations and tools advance, the event offers actionable guidance for bridging this divide, ensuring PR remains agile and ethical.
The lineup blends in-house, consultancy, and vendor perspectives for comprehensive dialogue. Kelly Weber leads APAC communications at Aquila Clean Energy, focusing on regional internal and external strategies. Rob van Alphen, founder of Polaris AI consultancy, aids teams in AI navigation and spearheaded IPRS's 2023 AI Guidance—the first in Asia for PR. Melissa Ang, Notified's Strategic Account Director, brings a decade of APAC experience in elevating IR and PR tactics through consultative partnerships. This diverse expertise promises nuanced views on AI's practical applications and pitfalls.
Notified's platform merges press release distribution, media monitoring, social listening, and analytics, with a December 2024 study showing GlobeNewswire redistributions yielding a 33% view increase, up to 90% for top posts. This partnership with IPRS underscores the push for responsible AI uptake, exemplified by van Alphen's guidance framework, promoting transparent integration to sustain trust and efficacy in communications.
The event, set for October 14, 2025, at PSB Academy City Campus in Marina Square, invites PR leaders to engage with these trends. Registration is available at https://iprs.glueup.com/event/from-data-to-dial....
IPRS, established in 1970 as a non-profit organisation, is the only accrediting body for Public Relations (PR) practitioners in Singapore. The Institute promotes excellence in the industry through knowledge exchange platforms and training programmes that are aligned with the many changes and developments in the practice of PR and Communications today.
IPRS has a growing membership consisting of professionals from diverse backgrounds in public relations, journalism, advertising, marketing, education and management – a factor that has contributed to the Institute’s strength and dynamism.
There are ten Student Chapters with various tertiary institutions to create opportunities for communications students and IPRS members to share expertise and experiences.
The IPRS introduced the Biennial PRISM Awards (Public Relations In the Service of Mankind) in 1987 to recognise and reward excellence in PR and Communications in Singapore and regionally. The IPRS PRISM Summit was established in 2022 to further industry development and growth, and held biennially, alternating with the IPRS PRISM Awards. Together they present a community platform to lead and showcase the PR industry's best in Singapore and the region.
