Amsted Automotive is set to demonstrate its cutting-edge powertrain efficiency solutions and advanced metal-forming capabilities at the 2025 JSAE Annual Congress, held May 21–23 at Pacifico Yokohama, Japan. The exhibit highlights innovations tailored for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), electric vehicles (EVs), and internal combustion engine (ICE) platforms, reinforcing Amsted’s leadership in automotive technology.
Amsted Automotive’s booth will feature its production eAxle disconnect technology, designed for seamless, high-speed transitions between two-wheel and four-wheel drive in EVs and HEVs. “With an energy-saving latching-in-state design, this system has the potential to extend the all-electric driving range of hybrid and electric vehicles by up to 10%,” according to company insights. The Multi-Speed Shift Technology, incorporating integrated One-Way Clutch (OWC) functionality, further boosts drivetrain efficiency, reduces costs, and enhances performance and range for EV and HEV platforms.
Complementing its powertrain innovations, Amsted will showcase its market-leading metal stamping processes. These enable the production of intricate, tight-tolerance components such as motor housings, carriers, hubs, welded assemblies, and brackets. These components meet the high-performance demands of modern vehicles, supporting efficiency and durability across HEV, EV, and ICE platforms. Amsted’s expertise in powder metal and advanced metal-forming ensures precision and sustainability in manufacturing.
In collaboration with ConMet, Amsted Automotive will present an electro-mechanical wheel-end disconnect system tailored for heavy-duty vehicles. This solution enables seamless engagement and disengagement of electric drivetrains, supporting effortless towing, manufacturing safety, and decking. It delivers near-instant torque release, improved fuel efficiency, and extended all-electric driving range, addressing the needs of commercial vehicle applications.
Amsted Automotive’s presence at JSAE 2025 underscores its role as a leader in global automotive solutions. By combining advanced powertrain technologies with precision manufacturing, the company addresses the evolving demands of electrified and traditional vehicle platforms. The exhibit at Booth #N27 in the North Building offers engineers and industry professionals a firsthand look at how Amsted is shaping the future of mobility with sustainable, high-performance solutions.
