Paycom has released new findings from a Nucleus Research study demonstrating substantial return on investment for organizations leveraging its comprehensive, cloud-based human capital management (HCM) automation. The research highlights key benefits including productivity gains, cost avoidance, and efficiency improvements driven by greater data visibility, legacy system retirement, and end-to-end process automation across the employee life cycle.
The Nucleus Research study, commissioned by Paycom, interviewed organizations across industries to quantify the impact of full-solution automation. Automated processes such as payroll, onboarding, and time-off management delivered measurable productivity improvements up to 64%. Clients benefited from retiring outdated systems, gaining real-time data visibility, and reducing manual intervention, allowing HR and payroll teams to focus on strategic priorities.
A hospitality industry leader achieved a 50% reduction in time spent on HR processes post-implementation. The client noted significant relief from previous manual workflows, describing the pre-Paycom experience as challenging and time-consuming. Similarly, a technology company streamlined payroll operations, cutting processing time by 80% through Paycom’s automated capabilities.
An Amazon delivery service partner initially adopted Paycom for payroll and timekeeping before expanding to additional modules. A separate Nucleus Research ROI case study showed this broader implementation generated a 205% annual return on investment. Key drivers included major reductions in overtime (79%), onboarding time (85%), and DSP auditing time (88%), alongside value from Applicant Tracking, Onboarding, Work Opportunity Tax Credits (WOTC), and Affordable Care Act compliance tools.
“We can be identified as a company that likes to be more hands-on, but things like [GONE® for automated time-off request decisions] are pretty cool. We would almost have to do nothing,” said the HR leader for the DSP.
“Paycom’s full-solution automation and decision logic continue to prove their value for organizations of all sizes,” said Chad Richison, founder and CEO of Paycom. “Thanks to our single-database architecture, we are able to automate and apply decision logic across our solution, which improves data accuracy, drives efficiency and helps our clients achieve measurable ROI.”
“[Before Paycom], it was a nightmare getting every box checked,” the hospitality client said.
Paycom commissioned the Nucleus Research studies in late 2025 to assess the real-world impact of its automation across the full employee life cycle. More details on the findings are available here.
