Fiserv, a global leader in payments and financial services technology, has announced a strategic collaboration with Microsoft to accelerate AI-driven innovation. The partnership focuses on embedding AI into Fiserv's development platforms and equipping its global workforce with advanced tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Foundry, aiming to boost internal productivity and deliver more intelligent solutions to financial institution clients.
Fiserv enters a strategic AI collaboration with Microsoft, deploying Microsoft 365 Copilot company-wide.
The partnership expands Fiserv's use of Microsoft Foundry, an Azure-powered AI application platform.
The goal is to enhance workforce productivity, streamline processes, and accelerate solution development.
Fiserv has already processed over 100 billion tokens in Foundry and deployed GitHub Copilot to 8,000+ engineers.
AI is already used in Fiserv products for fraud detection, risk management, and personalized engagement.
This move aims to transition from intelligent automation to "agentic intelligence" for client solutions.
A core component of the collaboration is the deployment of Microsoft 365 Copilot across Fiserv's global employee base, intended to enhance productivity and decision-making. In parallel, the expanded use of Microsoft Foundry will provide a secure platform for building and managing custom AI applications. Guy Chiarello, Vice Chairman of Fiserv, framed the strategic impact: “By embedding AI inside our workforce and development platforms, we’re not simply improving how we operate; we’re transforming how Fiserv delivers the next generation of innovation for our clients.”
This new phase deepens an existing technological relationship. Fiserv has already integrated Microsoft's GitHub Copilot for thousands of software engineers and has extensively utilized the Microsoft Foundry platform. Karen Del Vescovo, Corporate Vice President of Financial Services at Microsoft, highlighted the shared ambition: “By combining Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Foundry with Fiserv’s deep industry expertise, we’re enabling innovation that will help Fiserv’s workforce achieve new levels of efficiency and productivity.”
Fiserv positions this initiative as moving beyond automation towards "agentic intelligence." The company plans to leverage its proprietary data and industry expertise to embed generative AI capabilities deeper into its platforms. This is expected to unlock new revenue opportunities and enhance existing AI-powered services like fraud detection, risk management, and personalized customer engagement for its financial institution and merchant clients.
The collaboration represents a significant investment in operational and product innovation, aiming to solidify Fiserv's competitive edge by harnessing Microsoft's AI infrastructure at scale to benefit both its workforce and its clients' end-users.
