Rokt, a global leader in ecommerce, has acquired Canal to expand its product offerings, introducing Rokt Catalog to enhance the Transaction Moment with curated third-party inventory from premium DTC brands.

Quick Intel

  • Rokt acquires Canal to launch Rokt Catalog for ecommerce partners.

  • Enables access to 1,900+ DTC brand inventories without logistics.

  • Boosts revenue through AI-driven, relevant offers at checkout.

  • Canal’s infrastructure integrates with Rokt’s AI-powered Brain.

  • Supports Rokt’s Pay+, Aftersell, and Thanks products.

  • Rokt reports 40% revenue growth to $600M in 2024.

Expanding Ecommerce Capabilities

Rokt’s acquisition of Canal, announced on July 17, 2025, enhances its ecommerce offerings by introducing Rokt Catalog. This product allows partners to integrate third-party inventory from 1,900 premium direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands, such as Macy’s and SHEIN, without managing production or logistics. Bruce Buchanan, CEO of Rokt, stated: “This acquisition not only expands our products and the Rokt Network, it redefines the advantage we provide to our ecommerce partners. By integrating Canal’s catalog with our AI-powered Rokt Brain, we’re unlocking a new level of relevancy that makes the shopping experience better for every consumer.”

Enhancing the Transaction Moment

Rokt Catalog leverages Canal’s distributed commerce infrastructure to present contextually relevant offers during the Transaction Moment, the peak of customer engagement at checkout. This integration enhances Rokt’s existing products—Pay+, Aftersell, and Thanks—by embedding high-performing third-party products, increasing average order value and customer acquisition through a performance-driven channel. The platform ensures brand-safe, relevant experiences, aligning with merchant controls.

Strategic Leadership Integration

Canal, co-founded in 2020 by Bennett Carroccio, Clay Schubiner, and Liam Kinney, brings deep expertise in AI and scalable commerce. The co-founders will join Rokt’s product leadership team to further develop Rokt Catalog. Bennett Carroccio, CEO of Canal, noted: “Canal’s mission has always been to empower brands to sell anything, anywhere, by building the #1 platform for curated products. Joining forces with Rokt allows us to build on that mission and redefine how retailers approach the customer experience.”

Driving Revenue and Growth

Rokt’s acquisition aligns with its 40% year-over-year revenue growth to $600 million in 2024, following acquisitions of mParticle and Aftersell. In 2025, Rokt expects to power over 7.5 billion transactions across thousands of ecommerce businesses, reinforcing its position as a leader in AI-driven ecommerce solutions. The Rokt Brain enhances personalization, ensuring seamless and relevant customer experiences.

Rokt’s acquisition of Canal marks a significant step in redefining ecommerce checkouts, enabling retailers to create curated, revenue-generating ecosystems while delivering personalized shopping experiences.
