Cohesity has enhanced its Data Cloud platform with embedded Google Threat Intelligence capabilities, including Google Private Scanning, to provide real-time threat insights and secure sandbox analysis directly within the cyber resilience workflow. These additions enable organizations to detect, analyze, and eradicate hidden malware—especially low-and-slow threats embedded in historical backup data—before recovery or restoration, closing critical blind spots in traditional backup security approaches.
Traditional backup security often relies on static signatures or external tools, leaving organizations vulnerable to undetected threats in historical data. Cohesity’s integration of Google Threat Intelligence brings Mandiant’s incident response expertise and real-time IOCs, reputation data, and threat details directly into the platform. Teams can assess suspicious files without switching tools or manual handoffs, improving speed and confidence in recovery decisions.
The addition of Google Private Scanning enables safe detonation in an isolated sandbox environment. This provides detailed behavioral analysis—revealing payloads, network activity, and system modifications—while ensuring sensitive backup data remains private and sovereign. Organizations gain frontline security insights typically reserved for SOC/IR teams, directly at the point of recovery.
