Enigma Networks has announced the general availability of Enigma AI™, the industry’s first Internal Trust Governance platform. Designed to provide the internal network equivalent of Identity and Access Management (IAM), Enigma AI continuously determines and validates which asset-to-asset communications are necessary, legitimate, and safe—shifting from implicit trust to explicit, purpose-driven governance. This introduces a new control plane for Zero Trust (ZTNX) that addresses the long-standing blind spot in internal networks, where over-permissive trust relationships have enabled rapid lateral movement, credential abuse, and data exfiltration after initial compromise.

  • Enigma Networks launches Enigma AI, the first platform for Internal Trust Governance (ZTNX), continuously validating internal communications against asset purpose and expected behavior.
  • The solution shifts from detection (flagging anomalies) to determination (answering whether communication should exist at all).
  • Built on a continuously learned trust model, it maps assets, paths, and behaviors without agents, delivering governance with minimal friction.
  • Enigma AI integrates with existing controls for enforcement, supports IT/OT/IoT/cloud environments, and helps meet rising regulatory demands for internal control validation.
  • The platform completes the Zero Trust triad: IAM (user governance), ZTNA (access governance), and ZTNX (internal network governance).
  • Early deployments span manufacturing, financial services, and healthcare, hardening networks against AI-industrialized cyberattacks.

“After decades perfecting identity governance for users, internal networks continue to operate largely on blind trust,” said Bob Moul, Co-Founder and CEO of Enigma Networks. “IAM became essential when organizations realized they couldn't secure users and applications without first identifying and controlling access. We're doing the same thing for internal networks and assets. Every enterprise has IAM. Now they need Enigma AI to close the final gap in Zero Trust.”

“I spent years watching security teams drowning in network telemetry but starving for actual insight,” said Mark Viglione, Co-Founder and CTO of Enigma Networks. “Tools would generate endless logs and alerts, but couldn't answer the fundamental question: which internal communications should we trust? That frustration drove us to build Enigma AI – a platform that finally delivers governance, not just data.”

As organizations adopt an “assume breach” mindset and regulators demand proof of effective internal controls, Enigma AI provides the missing layer: proactive governance that eliminates implicit trust inside the network. By determining what should happen—not just detecting what does—the platform strengthens resilience, reduces lateral movement risk, and operationalizes Zero Trust from the inside out.

About Enigma Networks

Enigma Networks® is the creator of the ZTNX category and the developer of Enigma AI, the first platform purpose-built to operationalize Internal Trust Governance at enterprise scale. Enigma AI helps organizations eliminate blind spots, proactively harden networks, and enforce Zero Trust from the inside out – continuously validating which internal communications are necessary and safe across IT, OT, IoT, and cloud. Enigma Networks is backed by early-stage investors including Osage Venture Partners and United Effects Ventures.
