In an era of escalating cyber threats, enterprises require proven, integrated solutions to protect their most critical asset: data. Lumen Technologies and Commvault have announced a strategic partnership that integrates Lumen's secure global network infrastructure with Commvault's advanced cyber resilience platform. This collaboration is designed to help enterprises safeguard information, reduce risks, and accelerate recovery across complex digital environments.

Quick Intel

  • Lumen and Commvault partner to deliver an integrated cyber resilience solution.

  • The collaboration includes a Lumen Validated Design (LVD) for Cyber Resilience.

  • The solution combines Lumen's network with Commvault's data protection platform.

  • It features air-gapped storage, anomaly detection, and zero-trust access.

  • Lumen itself achieved $3.5M in annual savings by implementing the solution.

  • The partnership exemplifies Lumen's "connected ecosystem" strategy.

A Partnership Built on a Connected Ecosystem

This partnership is a key example of Lumen's strategy to unite its physical network and digital platforms with trusted technology partners. By combining Commvault's data recovery expertise with Lumen's secure, global network backbone, enterprises gain access to high-speed, encrypted data transport and seamless integration across hybrid IT environments.

Leadership on Confidence and Performance

Ashley Haynes-Gaspar, Chief Revenue Officer at Lumen, emphasized the strategic value, stating, “With this partnership, we’re demonstrating the strength of a truly connected ecosystem. By combining our network scale and digital platform with Commvault’s industry-leading data protection and cyber resilience, we deliver what enterprises need most: confidence, performance, measurable cost savings, and the readiness to tackle todays and tomorrow’s cyber threats.”

Pranay Alhawat, Commvault Chief Technology & AI Officer, added, “Lumen and Commvault together can help joint customers scale recoveries, advance true multi-cloud resiliency, and remain in a state of continuous business.”

A Proven, Validated Blueprint for Resilience

A cornerstone of the announcement is the Lumen® Validated Design (LVD) for Cyber Resilience with Commvault. This is a tested and proven blueprint that shows how the integrated platform reduces complexity, enforces zero-trust access, and accelerates backup and recovery. The design includes critical features like air-gapped storage and anomaly detection to ensure business continuity during sophisticated cyber incidents.

The solution is proven in real-world conditions. By consolidating 90% of its own legacy backup platforms using this approach, Lumen achieved $3.5 million in annual savings, demonstrating the solution's scalability and tangible impact. This validated design provides a strong foundation for industries with complex regulatory and operational needs, from healthcare and finance to energy and manufacturing.
