Strengthening Singapore's Deep Tech Workforce

CompTIA, a leading provider of vendor-neutral technology certifications, and SGInnovate, a government-backed deep tech ecosystem builder and investor, have announced a strategic partnership to enhance Singapore's talent capabilities in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), combines CompTIA's industry-recognized learning solutions with SGInnovate's extensive network to deliver relevant, practical skills for the evolving technological landscape.

This initiative supports Singapore's national priority to develop a future-ready workforce as AI-powered cyber threats grow and these domains become integral to the country's innovation-driven economy.

"As AI-powered cyber-attacks increase, and AI and cybersecurity become increasingly critical to Singapore's innovation economy, developing talent in these areas is a national priority," said Juliana Lim, Executive Director - People, SGInnovate. "Our collaboration with CompTIA allows us to upskill individuals through a blend of preparatory workshops and formal certifications. By bridging the gap between training and employment, we ensure Singapore's workforce remains future-ready and directly connected to meaningful opportunities across the deep tech ecosystem."

Launching the CyberReady+ Bootcamp Series

To meet immediate demand for cybersecurity talent, the partners introduced the CyberReady+ Bootcamp, a progressive three-stage program tailored for mid-career professionals, fresh graduates, and career pivoters with limited or no prior technical background:

  • Foundation: Covers essential networking concepts, security controls, and network defense principles.
  • Intermediate: Focuses on analyst workflows, including threat intelligence, vulnerability triage, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) fundamentals.
  • Advanced: Explores the intersection of AI and cybersecurity, emphasizing threat hunting, safe automation (SOAR), and securing AI-integrated systems.

The bootcamp consists of consecutive workshops designed to build interest, practical knowledge, and industry readiness ahead of pursuing formal certifications.

Introducing SecAI+ Certification

CompTIA is launching SecAI+, a groundbreaking global certification dedicated to securing, governing, and responsibly integrating AI within cybersecurity operations. The program equips professionals to protect AI systems from emerging threats, ensure compliance with global standards, and enable safe automation and innovation in security practices.

The certification directly addresses insights from SGInnovate's Deep Tech Central platform, where AI and cybersecurity roles increased 44% year-over-year from 2024 to 2025, while only one in five applicants possessed the necessary skills despite a 65% surge in applications. SecAI+ will be anchored within Singapore's deep tech ecosystem, with applications hosted on Learn@Deep Tech Central to centralize learning and maintain connections to job opportunities, internships, events, and ongoing development pathways.

Connecting Learning to Employment Opportunities

By integrating these programs into the Deep Tech Central platform, CompTIA and SGInnovate create a unified pathway from skill acquisition to career placement. The platform serves as a central hub for individuals at various career stages seeking emerging tech roles, while enabling startups and enterprises to access specialized talent.

"Classroom learning, on-the-job training and professional certifications are the foundations of a highly skilled technology workforce," said Peter Schalkwijk, Vice President, APAC, CompTIA. "Together with SGInnovate, we share a commitment to help people acquire the technology skills that drive innovation and growth throughout Singapore."

This partnership positions Singapore to close critical talent gaps, enhance workforce competitiveness, and support sustained growth in its deep tech and innovation sectors.
