A Powerful Ecosystem for Edge AI
This collaboration brings together Advantech's expertise in rugged edge hardware, Qualcomm's high-performance system-on-chip technology, and Edge Impulse's streamlined machine learning operations platform. The Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ-9075 processor, which powers Advantech's new systems, features dual Hexagon NPUs and an 8-core Kryo CPU to deliver the compute power necessary for complex AI inference tasks. Its design for industrial reliability, including long-term product support, makes it suitable for deployment in harsh environments across manufacturing, logistics, and robotics.
Introducing the AIR-055 Edge AI System
The AIR-055 is a compact edge AI system powered by the Dragonwing IQ-9075 processor. It is designed for vision AI and visual language model applications, offering a range of connectivity options including USB, RJ45, HDMI, and M.2. A key feature is its incorporation of MIPI-C, developed with partners, which allows for a direct MIPI-CSI connection to 2D and 3D industrial cameras without the need for bridge ICs. Supporting 4K resolution, the AIR-055 is targeted at smart manufacturing, intelligent transportation systems, retail, and public safety applications.
Introducing the AFE-A503 Robotic Controller
The AFE-A503 is a robotic controller built with the Dragonwing IQ-9075 processor, tailor-designed for autonomous mobile robots and delivery robots. It features multiple Ethernet ports for LiDARs and PoE cameras, as well as GMSL connections for RGB and 3D camera combinations. With a 20-36V power design for all-day battery operation and interfaces like CANFD and RS232 for IMU integration, it is built for robust outdoor use. The platform is supported by the Advantech Robotic Suite, which includes a pre-built ROS2 environment and an AI acceleration SDK to speed up time-to-market for robotic applications.
This tripartite collaboration provides a comprehensive hardware and software solution that addresses the key challenges of developing, deploying, and maintaining high-performance AI at the edge, empowering industries to harness intelligent, autonomous systems.
