Tata Communications has acquired a 51% stake in Commotion Inc., a US- and India-based AI-native Enterprise SaaS platform specializing in omnichannel customer experience automation, ultra-low-latency Voice AI, and business-ready autonomous digital agents. The cash-only transaction accelerates Tata Communications’ transformation into an AI-first organization and significantly enhances its Customer Interaction Suite, including the Kaleyra platform.

  • Commotion’s orchestration engine integrates with Kaleyra TX Hub and CCaaS for predictive, generative CX.
  • Adds omnichannel CX automation, real-time Voice AI, and compliant autonomous digital agents.
  • Shifts customer and employee interactions from reactive to contextual and converged AI experiences.
  • Strengthens Tata Communications Digital Fabric and enterprise AI scalability.
  • Builds on existing integration already driving strong customer traction.

Advancing AI-First Customer and Employee Experiences

The acquisition embeds Commotion’s three core pillars—Omnichannel CX Automation, Voice AI solutions, and Autonomous Digital Agents—directly into Tata Communications’ global offerings. Enterprises gain unified access to real-time, hyper-personalized engagement and intelligent automation that operates continuously across customer-facing and internal functions.

Seamless Integration with Kaleyra and Digital Fabric

Commotion’s orchestration capabilities will combine with Kaleyra’s multichannel infrastructure and contact-center-as-a-service (CCaaS) components to automate complete customer journeys. The result moves interactions from traditional reactive support to predictive and generative experiences powered by agentic AI.

A. S. Lakshminarayanan, MD & CEO, Tata Communications, said: "This acquisition marks a significant step in our journey to redefine customer experience in the AI era. With Commotion's capabilities already integrated into Tata Communications Kaleyra, we are seeing phenomenal customer traction. We expect this momentum to further accelerate our evolution into an AI-first organisation, making our Digital Fabric more intelligent, adaptive, and future ready."

Murali Swaminathan, CEO, Commotion Inc., added: "We are thrilled to announce this significant milestone in our journey. This isn't just about capital. It's about conviction, shared purpose, and the power of combining our innovation velocity with Tata Communications' global reach, trusted brand and digital expertise. Together, we will unlock AI's full potential in many industry sectors, building solutions that scale responsibly and transform the way the world works. The future isn't just coming – it's here, and it's global."
