Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has unveiled a significant expansion of its partnership with NVIDIA, introducing a suite of new solutions and a dedicated lab to simplify and accelerate the deployment of secure, sovereign AI infrastructure. Announced at HPE Discover Barcelona 2025, these initiatives are designed to give enterprises greater control and autonomy over their AI data and operations, addressing critical needs for performance, security, and regulatory compliance.

  • HPE and NVIDIA expanded their partnership to launch a sovereign AI Factory Lab in Grenoble, France.

  • The lab allows global customers to test and validate AI workloads on EU-located, air-cooled infrastructure.

  • New solutions focus on secure and scalable "AI factories" for sovereign and private AI deployment.

  • Enhanced HPE Private Cloud AI now includes NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and fractionalization for cost optimization.

  • HPE introduced new AI datacenter interconnect and data intelligence storage solutions with NVIDIA.

  • The collaboration extends to unified AI security with CrowdStrike and confidential computing with Fortanix.

Establishing a Sovereign AI Foundation in the EU

A cornerstone of the announcement is the launch of the first AI Factory Lab in the European Union, located in Grenoble, France. This facility is equipped with the full stack of HPE and NVIDIA technology, including NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, accelerated computing, Spectrum-X Ethernet networking, HPE servers, and HPE Alletra storage. The lab provides a sovereign environment for customers worldwide to test, refine, and validate AI workloads, directly addressing data sovereignty and regulatory compliance needs for operations within the EU. "Together, HPE and NVIDIA are showcasing our unique strengths to deliver true full-stack AI infrastructures," said Antonio Neri, president and CEO of HPE.

Enhancing Private Cloud AI for Sovereignty and Flexibility

To meet the growing demand for data and operational sovereignty, HPE has introduced major enhancements to HPE Private Cloud AI. New configurations now support the latest NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs alongside NVIDIA Hopper, giving customers flexible GPU choices. Key advancements include the integration of security-hardened NVIDIA AI Enterprise software for air-gapped environments and support for GPU fractionalization using NVIDIA Multi-instance GPU (MIG) technology to optimize utilization and lower costs. These updates provide a template for sovereign AI, as highlighted by Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA: "We’re transforming the data center into an AI factory — a manufacturing plant for the new industrial revolution."

Accelerating Performance Across Data and Networks

The partnership is also driving innovation in AI factory performance. HPE's networking solutions now fully incorporate the NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet networking platform and NVIDIA BlueField-3 DPUs, accelerated by HPE Juniper Networking platforms for secure, low-latency connections across distances and clouds. For data management, HPE announced the HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000 Data Intelligence Nodes. This next-generation architecture uses NVIDIA accelerated computing within the data path to analyze and enrich data in real-time, acting as an active data layer to fuel AI pipelines efficiently.

A Collaborative Ecosystem for Secure AI

Security is integrated throughout the new offerings. HPE has selected CrowdStrike to provide a unified security platform for HPE Private Cloud AI customers, protecting endpoints, identity, cloud, and data. Furthermore, a collaboration with Fortanix leverages NVIDIA Confidential Computing to deliver a turnkey platform for running secure, sovereign agentic AI in highly regulated environments, rounding out a comprehensive approach to AI infrastructure security.

The expansion of the HPE and NVIDIA partnership marks a strategic move to democratize and secure enterprise-grade AI. By providing tangible solutions like the sovereign AI Factory Lab, enhanced private cloud capabilities, and performance-optimized infrastructure, the companies are reducing the complexity barrier for organizations aiming to own their AI production. This focus on control, compliance, and integrated security positions HPE's AI factory solutions as a critical framework for the next wave of industrial AI adoption.
