In a significant expansion of their strategic partnership, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and HUMAIN have announced plans to deploy up to 150,000 AI accelerators in Saudi Arabia's first "AI Zone" in Riyadh. This collaboration, which includes both the latest NVIDIA GB300 AI infrastructure and AWS's Trainium chips, represents a major step in establishing Saudi Arabia as a global AI innovation hub. The expanded partnership designates AWS as HUMAIN's preferred AI partner globally, enabling both companies to bring AI compute and services from Saudi Arabia to customers worldwide.
AWS and HUMAIN expand partnership to deploy 150,000 AI accelerators.
The AI Zone in Riyadh will feature NVIDIA GB300 and AWS Trainium chips.
AWS becomes HUMAIN's preferred global AI partner.
Amazon Bedrock will provide access to best-in-class foundation models.
The partnership includes training 100,000 Saudi citizens in cloud and AI.
This advances the $5 billion AI investment plan announced in May 2025.
The AI Zone will support cutting-edge AI training and inference workloads with access to both NVIDIA's latest GB300 AI infrastructure and AWS's Trainium AI chips. This hybrid approach provides customers with diverse, high-performance AI chip infrastructures optimized for different workloads. The facility is designed to be among the most modern and innovative in the world, supporting both Saudi Arabia's national AI needs and the rapidly growing global demand for compute-intensive AI applications.
A key component of the partnership is the integration of AWS's generative AI services, including Amazon Bedrock, which will give customers immediate access to leading foundation models through a single platform. Amazon Bedrock abstracts away infrastructure management, enabling customers to access foundation models without needing to select or manage the underlying compute infrastructure. HUMAIN will also join the AWS Solution Provider Program, creating a unified platform to accelerate AI adoption across the region and internationally.
Tanuja Randery, Managing Director, Europe, Middle East & Africa at AWS, emphasized the strategic importance, stating, "This marks a pivotal moment in our commitment to our partnership with HUMAIN. By combining HUMAIN's local expertise and investment with AWS AI solutions—including our advanced infrastructure, hardware partnerships with NVIDIA, the transformative AI platform Amazon Bedrock, and AI solutions for business users including Amazon Quick Suite—we're establishing a world-class innovation hub that will serve customers across Saudi Arabia and around the globe."
Beyond infrastructure, the collaboration includes significant investments in local talent development and Arabic-language AI capabilities. AWS will train 100,000 Saudi citizens in cloud computing and generative AI through the Amazon Academy and support a dedicated initiative to train 10,000 women. The partnership will also advance the development of Arabic Large Language Models, including "ALLAM," HUMAIN's Arabic-first large language model, and create a unified AI agent marketplace for government services.
Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN, highlighted the scale of ambition, saying, "The AI Zone represents the beginning of a multi-gigawatt journey for HUMAIN and AWS. From inception, this infrastructure has been engineered to serve both national priorities and the world's accelerating demand for AI compute. What truly sets this partnership apart is the scale of our ambition and the innovation in how we work together."
This expanded partnership represents a comprehensive approach to AI ecosystem development, combining world-class infrastructure with local talent development and specialized AI capabilities tailored to regional needs, positioning Saudi Arabia as a significant player in the global AI landscape.
